Guess Vs. Prada on Facebook

  • Both Guess and Prada posts on daily basis.
  • Guess and Prada both posts about their product related things through pictures, videos and also live chat by its models. Guess posts about their promotions and also informs the customers about their new clothing line events through Facebook. This shows they keep their customers engaged constantly. Whereas, Prada does not have any promotion related posts on Facebook. They focus on celebrity endorsement as it is observed from most of their posts that their clothes are worn by celebrities in different events.
  • #loveGuess is what makes Guess stand out as both, the customers and the company itself use this hashtag to spread anything related to the brand, Guess, on Facebook. Whereas, for Prada, #candycosmos is the most frequent hashtag by the customers and the brand as well. Through this they are promoting their new perfumes.
  • Guess is also promoting Snapchat, another social platform they just created, on their Facebook page. Figure 1 is the screenshot of that post.

  • In the past couple month’s post, the most liked, shared and commented post on Guess’s page is the one posted on October 7th , 2016 related to the promotion over the Thanksgiving long weekend. There were 248 likes, 11 shares and 2 comments. Figure 2 is the screenshot of that post. 
  • Figure 3 is the screenshot from Prada's Facebook page and it shows Amy Adams who is wearing an outfit from Prada while attending "La La Land" and“Arrival” premiere. This post was posted on October 10th, 2016 and was liked by 694 people. It was shared 20 times and only one person commented on it.
  • For Guess, the post was successful because it involved its followers by giving a discount both in store and online and for Prada the post was successful because of the celebrity endorsement.
